If you drive a BMW you know that you have an amazing engine under the hood. Whether it’s an inline 6 or V8 with twin turbo, these cars are built to last. The performance and pleasure it provides driving on the roads is unmatched. As with all things, these can break. From something simple as a sensor failing or spark plug, to the more complicated issues such as variable valve timing issue, BMW engine repair is occasionally necessary to allow you to have full performance that you initially purchased your BMW for.
We possess all the right tools to make sure your vehicle is working up to specification. This includes checking and adjusting timing chains. Checking different required pressures in the oil pump, as well as in the newer BMW’s. All of these adjustments need to be perfect in order to insure that the car is operating correctly. Not only do we perform BMW engine repair, we can also replace your engine with a new or used engine. Occasionally repairing an engine is cost prohibitive, and it’s difficult to give a one hundred percent accurate estimate until the engine is completely taken apart. In cases where there is a lot of signs indicating the engine repair is going to be very expensive we recommend our customers to replace the engine with a used engine or new engine. This allows us to know exactly what the estimate will be. Of course, this is a case by case basis and really depends on the vehicle’s current condition, previous maintenance, as well the value of the vehicle and cost of replacement parts for the internals for the engine. Occasionally a crankshaft will be close to half the price of a used engine, if not more.
Besides major engine overhaul, we also perform much simpler yet very necessary repairs, such as valve cover gasket seal replacement. A valve cover gasket leak is a common issue in a BMW. It normally starts to seep, and then it slowly grows into a larger leak that begins to drip onto the exhaust manifold. The exhaust manifold being very hot then burns the oil, which will in turn be pulled into the ventilation system and the customer will smell a burning oil smell. This is why it is important to make sure any of your BMW engine repair needs are met by a qualified specialist. Whether it’s large or small, we can help you out with your needs. Not only are all mechanical functions of the engine repair important and vital, just make sure the shop rebuilding your engine or replacing it also has the ability to program any necessary module to avoid future headaches.

I have been using San Diego Bimmer MB since 1994. They are reasonable and honest and the mechanics are knowledgeable. Andy, Eva and Conrad are a pleasure to work with and go out of their way to accomodate my needs. i highly recommend their business. Molly McConnell
Really Great service here. I was in a time crunch and the guy (young tall male) expedited the process for me. Seemed like a family run business, everyone very friendly and accomodating. I would certainly go back, and am referring my roommates and friends go there when they need to as well!
Took my Nissan Altima in because it had a small, but growing, oil leak. They fixed it rather quickly and for much cheaper than a quote I received from another shop. I would recommend them to anyone. Infact, once the manufacturer's warranty is over on my other car, I will probably start taking it here!
They are great!!! I take my Mercedes only to them now. Real parts, great honest people, don't be fooled by the building they know what they are doing and at half the cost or more than the dealer!!!!!!!!
a small dinky lot with excellent customer service and great work on very technical, module related work on recent Audis. A great experience after a number of major let downs from the only Audi dealership on a very shiny lot within 20 miles.
I have been going to Adams Avenue Imports for years and highly recommend them. First I was taking my Toyota Camry and more recently my Audi A4. They have always fixed whatever problem I've had for a fair price in a reasonable amount of time. They are a pleasure to deal with - honest, reliable and even kind.... Recently I had an estimate for work from the dealer, and Adams Ave. Imports did the same work for a much lower rate. They are good people who do good work.
